Planning A Visit
Te Awamutu Museum has a current LEOTC contract with the Ministry of Education. We recommend the best practice approach for planning a visit as demonstrated within the TKI website and suggest teachers refer here before making a booking.
There are numerous ways to incorporate the resources of the Museum into your learning programme. When ready to make a booking at the Museum, we can offer teachers assistance in a variety of ways:
Personalised consultation in planning your programme - often we can come to you; suggesting one of our existing programmes or creating a tailored programme specific to your group’s learning needs; providing programme specific resources; working with other education providers to provide ‘package programmes’.

Student Safety
Te Awamutu Museum has an excellent safety record. If you are required to complete a Risk Management Assessment for your group’s visit, please use the health and safety guide to assist with this.
To get the most from a visit to the Museum, we recommend teachers contact the Education team as early as possible in the planning process.
If you already have a topic, check our education programmes to select those which fit with your learning needs. Then contact the education department to arrange a visit.
