The Te Awamutu Museum Archives Collection is one of the oldest in the Waikato and includes historical documents related to the social history of Waipa District.

What's in the archives?

Newspapers	Pamphlets	Maps
Historical newspapers including Waipa Post and Te Awamutu Courier.	Booklets and pamphlets about Te Awamutu organisations.	Historical maps of Te Awamutu and surrounding towns.
Photographs	Church Records	Archives
Over 6000 historical photographs of people, places and events.	Baptism and marriage records from local churches.	Family/personal papers and records from local clubs and organisations.

 

How do I research a topic?

The archives are available for research by appointment, or we can conduct research on your behalf. If you would like to access the archives, it's as simple as filling out an enquiry form with details of your enquiry.

How much does it cost?

It's free to come and view archives at the Museum. If you would like the Collections Manager to do research or copying for you there is a cost of $20 per half hour, with the first half hour free.
