The stories of Te Awamutu and its people are told through a range of permanent and temporary exhibitions.

The new temporary exhibition on display is:

Objects spark visions of the people and the times they came from.  This exhibition displays taonga and artefacts from five visionary people inventing new lifestyles in a rapidly changing world.

As the new colony was established, they typed and translated traditional knowledge, fought wars, made a feature film and created a taxi service with Kewpie dolls as hood ornaments.

See our past through the treasures of Raureti Te Huia, Rahapa Te Hauata, Elizabeth Langmuir, Dr. Jim Roberton and Mr. Augie Swarbrick.

The Inheritance exhibition runs from 13th December 2008 to 2nd April 2009.
